6P62 - an experimental large-caliber machine gun 12.7 mm, is designed to combat armored targets easily, vehicles and group living targets at ranges up to 1000 m, and can also be used to counter low-flying air targets at slant ranges up to 500 m

The barrel is installed nozzle effectively quenching loud shot, and eliminates the flash of flame, which is important in the conduct of combat operations at night.

When worn on the special units may be optional gun armament of helicopters, boats and other objects.
